Father's Day Makeover with KFAN Radio Station's Chris Hawkey

I was recently on the KFAN 1130am here in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Clear Channel Radio station! It was so much fun. The Power Trip (Chris Hawkey, Meatsauce, and Mike Morris-Sludge was out on vacation) on KFAN's morning show had me on to discuss the promotion we will be running this week with our partners for Father's Day as well as making over Chris. They were all very nice and a lot of FUN! All the listener has to do is go out to www.kfan.com and enter to win in Chris's Father's Day promotion. You will need to upload a few photos and tell us why your Dad deserves to win!

You are probably wondering how this promotion came about and I thought back to when I was young how terrible my Dad's style was. He was still wearing clothes in the 90's that were literally from the 70's. He was totally stuck in a time warp from 20 years prior and he actually THOUGHT he had style. Now fast forward to 2010 and I wondered if other's had Dad's like this; Dad's that were stuck in a time warp.

I thought how much fun would it be to partner with other local businesses and have the radio station do a contest where their listeners could enter to win a total Dad's day makeover from head to toe. I thought what a great gift to give to a Dad that needs some fashion help, because my Dad could have used it! Let's face it, there are a lot of Dad's out there that need our assistance.

When I was on air the guys were great. They asked a lot of questions about men's style and I told them that every guy should have a pair of brown and black shoes in their closet with matching belts. Gentlemen your socks should also match your shoes....this is key. Wearing jerseys came up as well and if it was ok to wear them. I for sure think it is great to wear them to a game as you need to support our local MN teams! However, if you are looking to impress a woman, don't wear a jersey out to a bar on non-game nights (if you just came from a game that is fine) but really they should be worn to and from games and at home around the house, not out at the bar or on a date for all of those rubes out there.

Chris asked if I liked cowboy hats and I said 'Heck Yeah' and he was happy about this as he is in a band and wants to have a stylish stage presence. I told him that we at I've Got Your Style can make it happen!

There are many great partners that I collaborated with for this promotion and a lot of awesome prizes for the winner. First, we needed to have a fabulous clothing store partner that had everything and The Foursome clothing store in Plymoth, MN was perfect; A great men's big and tall store from casual wear.to business attire, to shoes, and even custom made suits. They will be offering a $250 gift card to the winner. Then I thought we HAVE to partner with a place where our lucky winner and Chris will be able to get a proper men's shave and haircut and style, along with an eyebrow wax if needed. The place that came to mind was Accolades Salon and Spa. I thought only the best for our VIP's which is over a $125 value. If the winner suffers from male pattern baldness he will receive a gift certificate towards any service worth $500 from Good Look Ink, a new company here in the Twin Cities that is amazing. You just have to go out to www.mygoodlook.com to see the results! Once they have their hair done and are clean shaven they will be taken to Lance Vicknair's photography studio where they will get a few pictures they can have for their family for Father's day!

Overall this promotion will be great for any Dad so enter him to win! Also, we will be following Chris Hawkey in his transformation to having great stage style. I will be writing down their journey as we make them over. Next up, tomorrow we will be doing a closet raid in Chris's closet. Who know what we will find: bug boxers or Meatsauce?

Stay tuned and you will see!
